Spontaneous Gene Mutations Cause Autism

There's now the theory that gene mutations are causing autism. A paper was published in the Journal Cell where research reveals that an enzyme named UBE3A could be turned off when a phosphate molecule is tacked onto UBE3A. In neurons and during brain development, this switch may be turned either off or on, which leads to rather tight regulation of UBE3A. A research team discovered that an autism-connected mutation harms this regulatory switch. As a result of the destruction of the switch, that causes an enzyme's inability to be turned off, UBE3A gets hyperactive and fuels abnormal brain development and autism.

King of the Bullies Cures Autism?

More and more parents are asking whether the PDF book, King of the Bullies , can help cure autism in young children and older people. Does the author make a convincing case to have the cause and solution of autism?  There's one way to find out. Visit King of the Bullies

Can Zinc Cure Autism?

Zinc has been found to be deficient in autistic children in a study, and scientists are now theorizing that a deficiency of zinc may lead to the development of autism. So the assumption rings true that if zinc is given to autistic children to counteract this deficiency, the increase may help treat the disorder. But the doses would have to be quite large like 200mg daily to make a noticeable positive difference in the child's symptoms. Peer Reviewed Proof Whatsoever that Vaccines Cause Autism

After a decade of serious research and many large scale studies in several countries, the scientific and medical communities, with their emphasis on peer review, are unanimous in their finding no solid evidence supporting a link between vaccines and autism. The evidence at hand indicates that vaccinations are not causing autism, don't contribute as the cause of autism, and have no absolute future role as the trigger of autism. More proof: in March of 2005, Japanese scientists reported that after having withdrawn the MMR vaccination for a small part of the population, cases of autism had not fallen, but rather, increased for that segment. Valium Cures Severe Autism?

In a study, Valium increases sound-touch integration in autistic mouse model. When a sound and a touch occurred at the same time, the mouse model's brain reacts differently than the controls' brains. Valium reverses deficits in sensory integration in autistic mouse model, according to 2012 research. "I think it will generalize into something important about how the autistic brain integrates internal and external information," says lead investigator, Takao Hensch, professor of neurology at Harvard University. Is Wifi Causing Autism?

Now a paper claims that wifi is causing autism in our children. The paper was published in May and asked: "Could wireless technology be causing major health problems in your children?" It went on to add: "Wireless mobile phones, laptops and tablets could be causing major health problems in children and contributing to autism and hyperactivity, a new study warns," saying further that these devices, "which even include baby monitors, emit radiation and electromagnetic fields that pierce thin skulls, harming memory, learning and other mental skills."  Seems like every day there's a new explanation on the cause of autism. Lovastatin Cures Autism?

The effects of Lovastatin, according to a new study, suggests the drug is a promising treatment for anyone with autism and fragile X syndrome. The syndrome seemed to be a major cause of  "inherited intellectual disability"; one in three individuals with fragile X have also autism. The study goes on to add that the drug can help ease fragile X symptoms. Lovastatin has demonstrated to prevent seizures in mouse models of the condition. And coupled with an antibiotic, the drug could ease social withdrawal as well as hyperactivity in individuals with fragile X. The new study also suggests the drug eases cognitive issues and the effects are permanent. Peter Kind, lead researcher and professor of developmental neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, says: "You may not have to treat throughout life, if you can rescue during development;, then you may be able to remove the drug." Causes of Autism Epigenetics Genetics Familial Risk Factors

The current consensus among most researchers is that genetics and environmental factors are playing a major role. However, finding a heritable connection is highly difficult because there are many genotypic variations that may underlie autism. To enhance the process in pinpointing genes contributing to the etiology of autism, scientists are expanding their research by including epigenetics. One specific gene, SETD, is in charge of neurodevelopment and associated behaviors. The gene has been identified in other studies in influencing early development; thus, the gene has become a top candidate for ASD. Scientists might have verified SETD's role in ASD by using a unique mouse model in a recent study. They have documented the gene driving epigenetically unusual neurodevelopment that leads to behavioral deficits commonly seen in ASD. Findings are published in Translational Psychiatry, in its January issue. No One Should Feel Forced To Live A Lifetime With Autism  Are You ...
